QUETTA: Security forces have killed 36 militants during intelligence-based operations against what the military describes as Indian proxies, Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij in Balochistan over the past 24 hours. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), multiple intelligence-based operations were conducted in Mastung, Quetta, Kalat and Sibi, resulting in the deaths of 36 militants. In Mastung, security forces killed six Indian-sponsored militants during an operation on September 4. Ammunition and improvised explosive devices recovered from the militants were destroyed at the site, according to ISPR. In another operation in the Shaban area of Quetta district, security forces targeted four alleged hideouts of Fitna al-Khawarij, killing 26 militants. ISPR said two Indian-sponsored militants were killed during an intelligence-based operation targeting a militant hideout in Kalat. In the Bagh area of Sibi, security forces carried out a retaliatory operation and killed another two Indian-sponsored militants. The military’s media wing said that a total of 48 militants linked to Indian proxies, Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij have been killed across Balochistan during operations conducted over the past 48 to 72 hours. According to ISPR, more than 1,188 militants have been killed in security operations across Balochistan during 2026. ISPR said counterterrorism operations by Pakistan’s security forces and law-enforcement agencies would continue under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision until the elimination of the last militant.
