QUETTA: Security forces have killed nine militants in intelligence-based operations carried out in different areas of Balochistan under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, according to security sources. The sources said security forces conducted a major intelligence-based operation in a mountainous area between Ziarat and Harnai following information about the presence of militants. The forces surrounded and effectively targeted a militant hideout, killing eight militants. The hideout was also destroyed during the operation. In a separate operation in Hajika village in the Surab district, security forces killed another militant. The forces had established an effective cordon between Dasht Kutai and Hajika and tracked the movement of the militants, according to the sources. Ammunition, magazines, hand grenades, a walkie-talkie, a motorcycle and other equipment were recovered from the militants, the security sources said. Security forces have reiterated their resolve to continue operations in Balochistan until the complete elimination of terrorism and the establishment of lasting peace in the province.
