Bodies of Two Pakistanis Killed in Houthi Attack Arrive in Karachi
KARACHI: The bodies of two Pakistani nationals killed in a Houthi attack in the Red Sea have arrived in Karachi from Jeddah, along with several injured crew members, according to airport sources.
A foreign airline flight brought the bodies of Umair Afzal and Muhammad Akram to Karachi. According to the sources, Afzal was from Landhi, while Akram belonged to the Manzil Pump area of Karachi.
Three injured Pakistanis — Abid Ali, Muhammad Rizwan and Muhammad Waheed — were also brought back on a private flight.
Other injured crew members were transported to Islamabad Airport for further medical treatment.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar had confirmed that three Pakistani crew members were killed and one was injured in a Houthi attack on a cargo vessel in the Red Sea.
According to Yemeni government and coast guard sources, the vessel came under attack near Bab al-Mandab, with the ship's deck targeted during the assault.
