ISLAMABAD: A briefing on Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Thought on Party Building was held jointly by the Chinese Embassy and the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS), with Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong addressing the gathering.

Ambassador Jiang said Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building has profound and far-reaching significance and requires continuous study, understanding and practical application.

He emphasized the importance of putting the people first and governing in the public interest, stressing that China-Pakistan cooperation should be advanced in a manner that ensures greater benefits for the people of both countries.

The Chinese ambassador said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) had brought more than $25.9 billion in direct investment to Pakistan, created over 260,000 employment opportunities, and increased the country’s power generation capacity by more than 8,000 megawatts.

Ambassador Jiang said that, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, exchanges and mutual learning between political parties of the two countries would be further promoted.

He said China was ready to work with all political parties in Pakistan to continue implementing the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and further strengthen bilateral cooperation and the China-Pakistan friendship.
