DERA ISMAIL KHAN:Six police personnel, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Station House Officer (SHO), were injured on Saturday when terrorists opened fire on vehicles carrying the Kalaachi DSP and Hathala SHO in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's (K-P) Dera Ismail Khan, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Ghulam Mubashir Makin confirmed. According to RPO Makin, the attack took place near Al-Amin Farmhouse within the jurisdiction of Hathala police station. HE said that the sudden firing caused the DSP Kalaachi’s vehicle to go out of control, veer off the road and overturn, injuring the DSP, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Nauman Khan, Constable Qasim, gunman Ghulam Saeed, Constable Hashim and Lady Constable Amber Altash. “The injured police personnel were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan for treatment,” RPO Makin said. A heavy police contingent reached the site after receiving information about the incident, while additional personnel were dispatched from Ejaz Shaheed Police Lines in Dera Ismail Khan. The area was cordoned off and an operation against the terrorists was launched.
