High-Level Pakistani Delegation to Visit Iran on July 2
ISLAMABAD: A high-level Pakistani government delegation is scheduled to depart for Iran on July 2 to attend the funeral ceremonies of Iran's late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to sources.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will lead the delegation. Sources said Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has also been invited to join the visit and is expected to accompany the prime minister.
The delegation is also expected to include Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar.
In addition to attending the funeral ceremonies, the Pakistani delegation is expected to hold meetings with Iran's leadership to discuss bilateral relations, regional developments, and avenues for enhanced cooperation between the two neighboring countries, sources said.
