Islamabad-Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has described his meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, attended by Field Marshal Asim Munir, as highly positive and productive, claiming significant progress was made during his visit to Iran. In a statement posted on his X account, Naqvi said the discussions focused on the conflict between Iran and the United States, rising tensions in the Middle East, and the future course of action. He said the two sides also discussed the steps required by both countries to revive the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which could help pave the way for a comprehensive resolution to the conflict. Naqvi said President Pezeshkian openly presented his government’s position and concerns, while the two sides held constructive and useful discussions on matters of mutual importance. The interior minister said important progress was achieved during the meeting and that the talks concluded in a highly positive atmosphere. He expressed hope that the progress made would lead to further positive steps in the future and contribute to lasting peace in the region.
