Pakistan Summons Afghan Diplomat After Karachi Terror Attack
Islamabad, June 29, 2026: Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Afghanistan's Chargé d'Affaires in Islamabad to lodge a strong protest following the recent terrorist attack on a Pakistan Rangers facility in Karachi. At the same time, Pakistan's Ambassador to Afghanistan, Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani, delivered a formal protest note to Afghanistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul.
According to Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi, Pakistani authorities said Afghan nationals were involved in the Karachi attack, and one alleged attacker—identified as an Afghan citizen—was captured alive during the security operation. Pakistani officials stated that the incident reinforces their claim that Afghan territory is being used by militant groups to plan and launch attacks inside Pakistan.
