ISLAMABAD: A baby girl who survived the PIMS tragedy remains in critical condition and is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit, her parents said. According to baby’s mother, Asifa Bibi, said that their daughter, Aizal, was born on August 12. She said Aizal is their first child and is weak due to being born prematurely. According to her mother, the baby was also affected by smoke during the incident. She said Aizal’s condition improves one day but deteriorates the next. The baby’s father, Waqas, said that Aizal was also being given blood transfusions. However, despite the treatment, her condition continues to worsen. Meanwhile, the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court described the PIMS tragedy as a horrific incident.
