BEIJING: A delegation of students and faculty members from the University of Sargodha (UoS) visited key diplomatic, cultural, historical and media landmarks in Beijing as part of the Pak-China Youth Cultural Experience Summer Camp 2026. The delegation visited the Embassy of Pakistan, China Media Group (CMG) and the Great Wall of China, gaining valuable insights into Pakistan-China relations, cultural heritage and China’s modern media landscape. During their visit to the Embassy of Pakistan, the participants were briefed on bilateral relations between Pakistan and China, diplomatic engagement and the role of educational and cultural exchanges in promoting people-to-people ties. They also learned about the functions of Pakistan’s diplomatic mission in China. At China Media Group, the students were introduced to China’s modern broadcasting and digital media systems, as well as international communication practices. A special programme was also recorded in connection with Pakistan’s Independence Day, featuring UoS students and highlighting Pakistani culture and the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China. The delegation also visited the Great Wall of China, where the students explored its historical and architectural significance and gained a deeper appreciation of China’s rich cultural heritage. The delegation is headed by Prof. Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan, Dean, Confucius Institute, University of Sargodha. It includes Ms. Shafaq, Chinese Language Teacher; Hassan Raza, Deputy Director, Multimedia Development Centre; outstanding Chinese language students at HSK-3 level; and students participating in the joint China Fellowship Programme of the Pakistan Institute of China Studies (PICS) and Communication University of China. The participants described the Beijing visit as an informative and memorable experience, saying it provided them with an opportunity to explore China’s history, culture and media landscape while experiencing the strong bonds of friendship between the peoples of Pakistan and China.
