ISLAMABAD: An inquiry committee constituted on the directives of the President of Pakistan, who also serves as Chairman of COMSTECH, has sought six years of financial and administrative records from the COMSTECH Secretariat as part of an investigation into the affairs of Coordinator General Dr. Iqbal Choudhary.
According to an official communication issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the committee has directed the COMSTECH Secretariat to submit the required record by July 10.
The committee has requested audited financial statements for the period 2020–2025, along with complete details of income and expenditure, funds received from OIC member states, bank accounts and bank statements, investments, rental income, profits, procurement of assets, and expenditures incurred on official and foreign visits.
In addition, the inquiry committee has sought comprehensive information regarding the appointment of all COMSTECH employees, officers and consultants, their salaries, changes made to the organizational structure between 2020 and 2026, creation of new posts, salary revisions, details of terminated employees, and records of departmental inquiries conducted against them.
The committee has also asked for details of all agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed with local and international organizations, the funds spent under those agreements, outcomes achieved, relevant approvals, and compliance with directives issued by the Cabinet Division.
The inquiry is being conducted under the directives of the President in his capacity as Chairman of COMSTECH.
