Dina, Jhelum (Rab Nawaz Gondal) A 20 km long marathon walk from Rohtas fort to Talla Jogian will be held on November 15, 2026, in which around 3 thousand people are expected to participate from across the country. The purpose of organizing the event is to promote regional history, culture and tourism as well as provide opportunities for healthy activities to the public.

In this regard, well-known social personalities and organizers of the event, Malik Mudassar, Chaudhry Kashif, Chaudhry Shehzad and Malik Asim of UK, gave a special briefing to President of Press Club Dinah Muhammad Ehsan Janjua and journalistic delegation and informed about the arrangements, schedule and objectives of the event.

According to the organizers, the marathon walk will start at 7 am on Sunday, November 15. Participants will cover a total distance of 20 km, with the first 17 km walking and the last 3 km running. The participants will be divided into two to three different categories according to their nature and performance.

Special and valuable prizes will be given to the first five participants who perform outstandingly in the event, while other participants will also be awarded based on their performance.

Organizers said that medical personnel, private doctors and rescue 1122 have been hired to ensure the health and safety of the participants. According to him, people suffering from asthma, diabetes and heart diseases have been instructed to avoid participation in view of possible medical risks.

Regarding the security arrangements, it was informed that around 500 people will perform security and administrative affairs to maintain law and order during the event, while a formal request has been submitted to the district administration for cooperation and security. According to the organizers, people with criminal records will not be allowed to participate in the event.

The organizers added that arrangements are being made to provide drinking water, food, first aid and other necessary facilities to the participants, to make this historic activity successful and memorable.

This marathon walk is expected to be an important activity in terms of highlighting the historical heritage, promoting local tourism and encouraging a healthy lifestyle.
