Lahore-Police have arrested 14 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers and registered three cases following protests over the arrival of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi in Lahore. According to , police took action against PTI workers for holding rallies, engaging in protest activities, blocking roads and chanting slogans during Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s visit to Lahore. The Shadbagh police also registered a case against two additional workers. Police said the arrested individuals belong to different cities, including Rawalpindi, Loralai and Kala Shah Kaku. The workers allegedly blocked roads, disrupting the flow of traffic, and chanted slogans. Cases were registered under various sections, including violation of Section 144. The Akbari Gate police arrested nine people and registered a case against them on charges related to anti-state activities. Meanwhile, the Qila Gujjar Singh police registered a case against 10 to 15 workers and arrested five of them. The case includes five charges, including interference in official duties. Police claimed that the suspects resisted arrest and tore the uniform of a police constable. Political party flags and posters were also recovered from the arrested workers and taken into custody. Police said efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspects nominated in the cases. It is pertinent to mention that Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi is currently staying at the residence of PTI Lahore President Mian Akram Usman in Shah Jamal during his visit to Lahore. According to party sources, Mian Akram Usman was taken into custody by police from Regal Chowk last night, but no information about his whereabouts has emerged so far.
