ISLAMABAD: Rwanda and Pakistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on trade aimed at strengthening bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Rwanda’s Minister of Trade and Industry Tony Kajangwe and Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Rwanda Naeem Khan, signed the agreement.

The MoU is expected to promote greater trade facilitation and create opportunities for stronger business-to-business partnerships and joint ventures between companies from both countries.

The agreement will also encourage cooperation across a range of sectors, including manufacturing, textiles and apparel, agriculture, tourism and transport.

The signing marks a step towards expanding commercial engagement between Rwanda and Pakistan and providing a framework for businesses in both countries to explore new markets, investment opportunities and partnerships.

The two sides are seeking to deepen economic ties through increased private-sector engagement and broader cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
